AORE is requesting members to review the newly released draft of the Wilderness First Responder Scope of Practices document. Steve has worked in outdoor recreation for almost 20 years now. He currently directs the outdoor program at Sam Houston State University where along with guiding outdoor trips for students, he oversees the development of a 345 acre outdoor recreation facility, manages a climbing and gear rental operation, and provides field based technical support for research expeditions across the United States and at various locations around the world. Steve earned his bachelors and masters from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. He is a WFR, and in his years in outdoor recreation has instructed a wide variety of outdoor pursuits. He and his wife Angie have a young daughter named Kaelin and two dogs: Blu and Bailey. He is an avid reader and a die-hard Pittsburgh sports fan. When not leading trips you can often find him working in his yard, riding his motorcycle, or just enjoying being outside.
