As a membership-driven organization, Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE) strives to keep you, our valued members, at the center of our work. You are our key to determining the focus and direction of AORE. One of the responsibilities and benefits of membership is participating in the election of well-qualified individuals to serve on the AORE Board of Directors. We need and appreciate your participation in the upcoming Board of Directors election.
Open Board Positions
There are three (3) four-year seats and one (1) one-year seat open on the AORE Board of Directors. There is also one (1) one-year Student Board of Directors seat open as well, with service terms beginning January 2020. The 2020 Board will have a total of 11 members. Our goal is to elect directors who bring the experience, skills, and diversity necessary for enhancing the strategic focus of AORE.
Eligibility FAQS
You must have a current Professional Membership on record by Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 4:00pm EST in order to be eligible to vote this year. Similarly, student Professional Memberships must be current as of the same deadline in order to be eligible to vote in the Student Board of Directors election.
Voting in the Board Election
Voting for Board positions will begin on September 1, 2019. Eligible members will be able to begin voting on September 1st via a ballot sent from our online voting platform. At that time, those members will be able to view each candidate's experience, perspectives, skills and diverse qualifications that will help our association continue to grow and advance the field of outdoor recreation and education.
