EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REPORT: CORONAVIRUS IMPACTS
Dear Members:
We are all watching the world respond to the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), and this is no doubt impacting your programs, as well as you personally. We can see the thoughtfulness of members contemplating their programming, facilities, and staff through message boards and AORE networks.
Our association does business in Michigan, and so, I am sharing this informative message from the office of the governor for those members who may not have as much guidance in their workplace. It is by no means an exhaustive resource; please defer to your local health providers for local or regional support. This resource does offer suggestions for basic personal-hygiene measures, individuals and families, individuals at risk, universities and colleges, schools and childcare, workplace, community, and other mass events. We have also shared out information on COVID-19 in the AORE newsroom.
Additionally, next week AORE is hosting a free live webinar on March 16th at 4:00pm EST with Steve Smith of Experiential Consulting, who will help our members learn about and how to manage the risks of coronavirus. We will also be hosting two virtual open-forum Association Chats for members to engage in conversations around how their peers are navigating COVID-19 at their workplace and programs in an effort to learn from other members and share strategies to consider, discuss, or implement. The first member chat will take place on March 17th at 4:00pm EST and the second conversation will be held on Friday, March 20th at 12:30pm EST.
We know AORE members are leaders and ambassadors in the communities you serve, and AORE members are well equipped to be measured, supportive and lead themselves and others through challenging environments. We know you provide a critical link to many, and hope that you will share and support resources and ideas through this network.
