Pack your bags and buckle up for an adventure to Costa Rica with a group of women leaders. Dive into the Centered Leadership Model and explore the intersection of your leadership journey and wellbeing. Connect with women who value experiential learning and try outdoor pursuits as we put theory to action.  You will be challenged in various ways and discover how you will translate this immersive cultural experience to your personal and professional life.

Responsible travel, the social and environmental welfare of the planet, is important to us. Unique to this adventure is a visit to the Mi Cafecito Coffee Cooperative Tour, which is a Planeterra project with  experiences provided by local entrepreneurs and small businesses. You will be able to directly contribute to the sustainability of culture and community as well as ensure that tourism supports the well-being of locals.

Participant Outcomes:

  • Engage in conversation on health and wellbeing through an immersive cultural experience with dynamic women leaders instigating change in their organizations.

  • Discuss and analyze the value and impact of womens leadership as it contributes to developing a culture of health and wellbeing.

  • Identify the five dimensions of the Centered Leadership Model and develop a personal action plan.

ITINERARY:

Day 1 San José

Arrive at any time. Your arrival transfer is included.

Day 2 San José/Monteverde

Drive along winding roads to the quaint town of Monteverde, surrounded by cloud forest. In the afternoon, Enjoy a G for Good farm experience, coffee tour, and and local lunch. In the afternoon, pull on your poncho and boots. It's time to head into the cloud-covered forest, past over-sized ferns and exotic orchids. Harness your inner Tarzan and Jane as you imagine swinging from the giant vines. Trudge along 12km (7 mi) of trails, watch for wildlife, and trek to the top of the observation tower. Be sure to stop and listen, too. Hear the haunting call of the bellbird and perhaps catch sight of the brilliant green and red resplendent quetzal. Feel good about protecting the forest and sustaining the quality of local schools through payment of your park fees.

Day 3 Monteverde

In the morning, get a true bird's-eye view of the rainforest canopy as you soar through the trees on a Tarzan swing, a giant rappel, and a 137-meter-high (450-foot) zipline. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore the cloud forest region of Costa Rica.

Day 4 Monteverde/La Fortuna

Travel by private vehicle and boat through the stunning scenery to Costa Rica's adrenaline capital, La Fortuna, which boasts the stunning backdrop of Arenal Volcano. Visit a G Adventures-supported coffee cooperative with a coffee tour and local lunch. Continue to the adventure hub of La Fortuna. Enjoy free time on arrival. In the evening, take a relaxing soak in the hot springs around La Fortuna. Situated at the base of the Arenal Volcano, immerse yourself in therapeutic waters heated by earth's magma and infused with healing minerals and salts. Rejuvenate your muscles, detox your cells, and stimulate all your

senses in nature's thermal spa. Breathe in the pure rainforest air and marvel at the mystic surroundings of these outdoor pools of paradise.

Day 5 La Fortuna

Grab a long wide board and show those surfer dudes how it's done without waves on Lake Arenal with the volcano looming above. Tour picks up from the hotel and includes a tour of the west-end of the Lake while you're getting the hang of the paddle board. Enjoy the amazing view, with chances to spot wild birds like Great Blue Herons or even Howler Monkeys. Learn more about the area while exploring the lake and snack on some tropical fruit before heading back to the hotel. Spend the afternoon relaxing, viewing local wildlife, marvelling at the Arenal Volcano and getting to know more about Costa Rica in La Fortuna.

Day 6 La Fortuna/San José

Soak up your last hours in La Fortuna before taking an late afternoon transfer back to the capital. Spend a final night out in San Jose with your group for a farewell dinner.

Day 7 San José

Depart at anytime. Departure transfer is included.

TRIP REQUIREMENTS

Registration for this program is $350 per person paid by March 1, 2020.   If the trip has not met its minimum number to run by March 1, 2020 people will receive their full $350 deposit.

This trip requires a minimum of 8 participants to run.  

Do not book flight/travel information until trip has been confirmed a go (March 2 all registered participants will be notified of program status.)

Individuals must pay in full by March 31, 2020.

Participants will be required to cover the exclusions for the program.

Participation in pre and post program work.

With or without reasonable accommodations, participants must be able to self-navigate difficult and varying terrain in the mountain, wilderness and high altitude environments. Participants will lift and carry heavy loads that may exceed 50 pounds over difficult, challenging and strenuous terrain. Participants must be able to walk and hike distances carrying heavy loads. Physical conditioning and a healthy mental attitude are necessary components of this experience.

It is mandatory for all of our travellers to have Emergency Medical insurance that covers for both emergency evacuation and repatriation to the sum of $200,000 USD we also strongly recommend purchasing an all inclusive plan that covers cancellation/interruption insurance as well.
