AORE and Viristar Announce Partnership to Bring Risk Management Training to Outdoor Recreation and Education Professionals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – May 12, 2021 – The Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE) announced a collaboration between AORE and Viristar to bring training courses on risk management to AORE‘s community of outdoor recreation and education professionals.

AORE will be making available comprehensive, four-week trainings to its community members at a discount, increasing the accessibility of training opportunities to its independent school members.

Jeannette Stawski, Executive Director of AORE, stated, We‘re very pleased to make these training opportunities available AORE members. The AORE community values safety in outdoor recreation and education, and these courses will further support our members in providing high-quality programs with excellence in risk management.

The trainings, facilitated by Viristar, will help AORE members successfully navigate safety challenges.

The rigorous courses are four weeks long. They combine online self-study with group work and seminar-style video-conference calls. Topics include safety culture, best practice standards, COVID-19, systems thinking, and more.

Viristar Director Jeff Baierlein stated, We are delighted to bring our comprehensive safety trainings to the AORE community. A variety of outdoor recreation and education groups have improved the safety and quality of their programs through taking the Risk Management for Outdoor Programs course, and we know that AORE members will find great benefit in the trainings as well.
